Schwinn Tourist
On my faster than I thought post I got to write a bit about my new Schwinn Tourist and since then some time has past; I am riding it all the time. I take it to my second job and to the beach (when I can); soon I hope to start taking my Tourist on longer trips. Clearwater and to my aunts would be great trips to set out on since both are 40 plus mile round trips.
There is my beast. No the back tire is not bigger than the front tire. I have been watching some videos and such on this style of bike, road bike cross over, and people seem to love it. I went from a mountain bike to this and I am very happy. I was afraid that the tires would not handle the bumps of Pasco county road ways but so far so good. I plan on taking the bike in to a local shop soon to have it looked over and made sure that everything is snug and greased and such. I don’t want to be heading down to the beach and have something fall off or come apart. So far the Schwinn has been very snug and it shifts great. I use the gears a lot because of all the street lights and traffic, in doing so I used far less energy to get back up to speed after having to slow for someone who thinks there car means they have the right of way.
There furthest I have taken my bike was a thirteen mile round trip. It was from my house to our local nice beach. The path there had so decent views and took me through down town Tarpon area. I stuck to the side walks because the roads are so narrow and yet people still try to do 40pmr. I hope Tuesday I can make another trip there.
This road bike party video give me so much inspiration to keep getting on my bike and using it to its fullest. Now don’t get me wrong, there is no way in hell I am going to be doing any of awesome stuff these guys do.
Hey Arianna Shirk,
I just want to say Hi. I hope you are well. I would love to see you some day soon.
