I like it with a chain
Well tonight I have a bit to write about, but I am not sure if all my thoughts will get typed the way they are organized in my noggin. I am very tired for many reasons tonight and am not ready to go to bed just yet since Macey is still up walking around.
Last Saturday now… wow I haven’t had much time. Last Saturday some of my family on my
dads side came down to visit Sarah and I for the weekend. It was so great having everyone here since I have never really had the chance to get to know my meme or Aunt Connie and Mattie. They were visiting my dad and decided to come stay the night and then we all went on Sunday to go see him again before I had to go to work. Sarah and me haven’t seen dad in a while so I jumped on the chance to go see him even if just for a few hours. It was cool seeing him and we all had lunch together and just hung out till I had to go to work. When I got home Sunday we had dinner and really had time to hang out with the family. Sarah had a good time and Macey really loves Aunt Connie; I cant wait till they come back by again so we can all get to know each other better.
Well you will be glad to know that I have finally got a test date for my Echo Test… I can wait for that. I really need a steady study partner; any takers?
Okay well now to the really cool stuff. Thursday, Jonny and I used my time before I had to go to work (another story) to get more firewood. My peep had some large tree branches that needed trimming and we were the perfect free help he needed. We started out early and got a bunch of oak cut using my stepdad’s chainsaw. Fun fun fun, Jonny was shocked that the chain held up so well against the oak, and so was I. I started in on some saplings that needed clearing and everything was going great. I was having fun cutting stuff up and wasn’t paying attention to the vines that were finding their way around my arm. Then out of nowhere it hit me. These damn little thorny vines had a grip on my trigger arm and were starting to sting a little. I let off the gas on the chain saw and got to shaking my arm free of these torturous tree strangling assassins. Now mind you I was crouched down so I could get a close cut to the ground when cutting the little trees. I got my arm free and stud up; somewhere in those ten seconds of shaking my arm and standing up I bumped my knee with what I thought was the butt end of the saw. I looked down seen nothing and started back to cutting… I looked back down before I had the chance to start cutting again; I lifted my shorts and holy shit I cut my leg wide open. Not a long cut but a short, wide and deep laceration. All I could think about was “shit Sarah is going to kill me” I looked over at my friend and was like dude I thing I need a bandage. He quickly abided and Jonny came to make sure I wasn’t going to die… I think he was thinking my mom would kill him if I died. Lol. I walked over to the hose and washed out the wound then to the drive way to patch it up. Okay so I almost passed out like five times, but it didn’t hurt at all. So after it was all patched up with four Band-Aids and package tape we went back to trimming the trees till I had to get ready for work. Sarah got home before I left for work and wanted to send my new future man scar. So she flipped and insisted I go to the hospital; six hours later and four staples we got home. I missed work and was starving. When we got to the hospital the lobby was full and there was another guy there who got his leg with a chain saw too and every one thought we were together. He had a squirted and was there as long as I was. every time I squeezed the cut you could see all my fat pushing up and out. Oh it was so cool and it still didn’t hurt at all. The PA finally came to patch me up and when she got out the numbing stuff and drug the needle across my cut I about punched her face off. That crap hurt like hell. The only way I can describe it is having someone give you paper cuts inside my already big cut. Yeah that’s how I felt. That squirm you just did; I was doing that in the bed the whole time she was numbing me. I didn’t feel the staples and they only got to hurting last night.
I got a second job to bring extra money into the house and had my second first day of training last night. It was a slow night but I got to see a lot and got to see all the ins and outs. After my shift I called my Honey on the way home and remembered I forgot my Throw Back Mountain Dew and the store so we chatted and I went back to get my drink. As I got out of the car here comes a guy running towards me with stolen goods in his hands. He was being followed by three employees and was gaining ground on them. Not thinking at all I joined in on the chase and was on top of this guy before he knew it. He tried to jump in the getaway car but a little push from me he kept running. I got behind the car and got the tag number. By this time every one caught up and kept chasing the guy; I joined in again and was right behind him. I didn’t see anyone else so I wasn’t about to tackle this guy and blow out my staples. He threw down the stores good and head down the street. One of the guys chasing him was able to cut him off but missed the grab. I got back up to him and had his shirt in my hand as he jumped in the car. I let go so I wasn’t getting pulled down the street. Everyone was shocked that I ran with staples in my knee… I think I was the most shocked. It was a blast!!
We have a name for the baby finally. (Reagan Ramsey Trump) or (Reagan Lee Trump)
Well it is midnight and I had better get to bed so I can get up for church.
Good night Arianna, Macey and Reagan
Daddy
sniff sniff… Do I Smell wood… hehehe
Well this post is really just for me, I wanted to write some time and this is what I chose. So the other day Sarah and I were coming home late from somewhere. I think we were coming from my mom’s house; we had dinner there with my Nana and little sister. Last Thursday I guess it was. Well when we turned on our street I noticed the big tree that shaded the parking lot of The Barter Post was gone and there was a huge pile of wood left in its place. I toyed with the idea of driving the Lincoln down that night and collecting all that would fit in just a few trips, but it was late and I was tired and I figured that if I asked for the wood the tree trimmers would be happy not to have to load it up. I got up early Friday before work and made up a note to tape to the logs so that they could contact me if I could come get the wood. With my coffee in hand I headed down the street on foot (I have a belly I have been trying to get rid of) half way there the tree guys showed up for work. Lucky me. “You all wouldn’t be willing to part with this wood would ya; If I wanted to take it?” I said. “You want
the logs? How are you going to get it out of here?” The worker said. “One at a time, on my back until till I have cleared as much as you’ll let me take” I said with a grin. “Just kidding I can have some one hear with a truck soon” “Okay well when will you have it picked up” I told him that day and sure enough two short beds and two long beds full of wood later I have plenty to last us a while. Oh yeah I filled that trunk of the Lincoln once while I waited for Rich and my neighbor to show up. I split a few pieces of wood and took a shower just in time for my boss to call and say he had me on the schedule for the day. That was more good news. Well all evening Sunday after work I split wood and all day today I split wood. I now have a four foot high twenty foot long wall of wood and my pile looks the same as it did two days ago. Okay maybe a bit thinned out. My hands are ready to blister and I am still ready to split more. I am sore since this is the closest to a work out I have had in a while; Sarah was so kind to me and rubbed lotion on my hands to try to make them feel better. I got to looking online yesterday for wood splitters because tomorrow there will be even more wood added to the pile I already have and then even more on
Wednesday. Sunday I felt that I could get a little over whelmed and that maybe a wood splitter could help some. Way over priced for a couple pieces of metal and a hydraulic jack, for real. But I did find the cool looking little thing call a log grenade. It helps to split even wet wood… which all the wood I have now is wet. This thing is an ice-pick looking wood wedge. Cheap and the reviews seemed okay even though they looked a little fake, I’m just saying. I told Rich I needed one and that it could help split the wood faster and easier. “He is getting some of this wood too” He picked me up one from Northern Tools and holy bat crap that thing busts right through the logs. I have been for years just using a heavy splitting axe and boy was I just spinning my wheels. This log grenade thing makes splitting even good sized logs fairly simple since the dang thing stays in the wood and you don’t have to take it out every swing. Rich wanted to see the thing in action that’s how I know how it works and how it works. The neighbors now know I have a new toy too. The wedge makes this pretty little ting sounds every time it is hit. Tomorrow before and after Rich and I get more wood I am going to have fun trying to bust the log grenade in a piece of wood. I am sure it can handle my swinging for now. My big axe has a sledge head on it too; that is how I was able to start using it tonight.
Today while cutting up my wood Coco was outside with me just hanging out making noise every time I made a peep or if Macey was to close to me “Coco is very jealous” I am glad Sarah was paying attention to what was going on around us because I sure wasn’t. As it turns out there were to huge hawks circling above Coco’s tree and Sarah informed me of Coco’s impending doom if I didn’t act quick. I put Coco inside and the
hawks stayed flying just above the house for a few more minutes. I watched them while I gave my arms a break from cutting wood. They seem to have a nest in one of the pine tree two lots down. They hung out by this nest for a little while and then flew away looking for food I guess. About a half hour later three crows showed up and started snooping around the nest. Next thing I knew all three were inside it; if there were eggs there aren’t anymore. The three left and the nest was empty when I went inside for dinner. I’ll see if there is any movement in it tomorrow, (by looking for movement I mean, looking from ground level in my yard up to the nest with a camera) maybe it wasn’t a hawk nest. But there have been so far two attempts on Coco’s life thus far by these hawks. Coco keeps an eye out and lets me know when they are getting to close for her. But sometimes they still have time to swoop down at her and she flies under furniture for safety screaming like you hear on a horror movie.
I am starting to get tired.
I am off to bed good night.
